Lola's Chicken Shack successfully implemented the following ReThink Disposable best practices:
  • Offers reusable water cups in place of disposable water cups
  • Provides reusable spoons and bulk sugar dispensers for coffee and iced tea
  • A bulk dispenser is also used for unwrapped straws
  • No longer supplies students with disposable lids and gives them less disposable foodware
Their annual impacts are:
  • $3,204.89 in net savings
  • Eliminating 65,052 pieces of disposable packaging
  • Preventing 1,400 lbs of waste
2017 UPDATE -  Lola's Chicken Shack enrolled for a second time in the program:
  • Straws are by request and they offer a reusable straw option when customers dine in
Their annual impacts with this change are:
  • -$110.52 in net savings
  • Eliminating 1,837 pieces of disposable packaging
  • Preventing 6 lbs of waste
